Mutlu Cankup
Founder | Ballet Artist | Instructor | Choreographer

Mutlu Cankup began his ballet training in 2001 at the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet’s Children’s Ballet Program. He graduated with Honors from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory, Department of Ballet. During his education, he participated in masterclasses with internationally renowned instructors both in Turkey and abroad, and performed in various international ballet competitions.

Throughout his artistic career, he has choreographed numerous children’s musicals and stage productions. He worked as a choreographer for the Turkish productions of global brands such as Garfield Comedy Festival, Strawberry Live Show, Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and Winx Club Musical. Since 2010, he has been actively involved with Altınok Children's Theatre.

In addition, as a result of his work with TRT Children's Choirs in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, and Trabzon, he was in charge of the choreography for the 11th Popular Children's Songs Contest, which was broadcast live by TRT Çocuk Channel in 2013.

Since 2009, Mutlu Cankup has been working as a ballet instructor, teaching students of all ages and levels in various private art schools. After completing his conservatory education in 2013, he continued his professional dance career with the Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, balancing his stage experience with teaching.

From 2017 to 2024, he served as a part-time lecturer in the Ballet Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Istanbul State Conservatory.

He currently continues his work in arts education at Mutlu Ballet and Music School (Çekmeköy), of which he is the founder and director. He also organizes ballet camps and educational events that bring together national and international instructors under the umbrella of Mutlu Dance Organization, which he founded in 2016.
